The Spirit Moves
Connecting Spirit and Movement
with Carla De Sola and the Omega West Dancers
For five decades Carla De Sola has been a leader in the field of liturgical dance. In 1974 she founded Omega Dance Company in New York City. Omega Dance Company was the first company of its kind, and it is still going strong. In the early 90's Carla moved from New York City to Berkeley, CA where she became an instructor at the Graduate Theological Union. In 1992 she founded Omega West Dance Company, the west coast "sister" to Omega Dance Company.
Through her work as a dancer, choreographer, writer, and teacher, Carla has helped countless dancers, seminarians, religious leaders, and people of faith discover a deeper connection to spirituality through movement.

The resources on this site are drawn from Carla's work, as well as that of her students, dancers, and colleagues. We hope these resources inspire you to deepen your own connection to spirituality through movement. We look forward to adding more resources to this site throughout the coming year.
